About Shell Car Wash

Located at 1737 Lincoln Wy, San Francisco, CA 94122, Shell Car Wash operates as a car wash serving San Francisco in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In San Francisco, washes are busiest on sunny weekends and the first dry day after rain or a snowstorm, when lines back onto the street; weekday mornings are the quietest. Across California, expect a basic exterior wash to cost about what a fast-food meal does, with wax, tire shine and undercarriage rinse sold as tiers above it. Self-service bays are the cheapest way to clean a truck bed, a muddy off-roader or a vehicle that will not fit a tunnel, and many run around the clock. Check the listing for the wash type, hours, free vacuums, unlimited plans and whether the site accepts cards or app payments, then call ahead in freezing weather, when tunnels close.

No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file. More information is available on its website, support.shell.com.

Its Google rating stands at 3.3 out of 5 from 76 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Francisco follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Exactly what I was looking for with an underbody wash after driving in the snow.

I don’t know why I went back. I tried this place a few years ago and it destroyed my roof. I tried it again three days ago and it’s now twice as bad! See the captions in my photos. This is not sun damage. My car stays in a covered garage when not in use and only drives around SF. I also have tiny paint chips on the hood (not pictured). I selected the most basic carwash option each time. Stay away from this place for this reason alone, and if mgmt is reading, please let me know how you can make this right! On top of this damage, my other complaint is that I selected a carwash during my tank fill up. There were no prices (sneaky) and “ultimate” appeared to me to be the lowest tier wash based on the display. But on my receipt it had charged me $17. I realized my mistake and drove up to the carwash and asked the attendant if he could help me somehow use the code I already had to select the basic wash instead. I didn’t even care about a refund, I was just worried that ultimate would be even harsher on my car (than the basic option was a few years ago). He tried to understand but did not speak English, unfortunately, so I just placed a brand new order and spend another $10 for basic. S

The auto-cashier wouldn't accept my CHASE BANK card causing me to stall a line of cars that'd been flowing nicely. My car came out of their wash spotless with clear windows.

Car was still dirty after a $17 ultimate wash with visible and easily removable dirt from a snowy road. Asked for a rerun but manager was not helpful and quite rude and said it was as not possible.

If you need a speedy exterior wash you will have a real hard time finding a faster or more economical option than this new Shell Car Wash. Drive up, pay at the kiosk, and proceed into the car wash, you don’t even need to get out of your car. Enjoy the free show!
